According to legend, it was a culinary endeavor spurred by the sweet cravings of the Prince-Bishop of Liรจge that birthed this delightful pastry.
In his quest to appease the Prince-Bishop's insatiable sweet tooth, his cook combined a novel ingredient of the time, "pearl sugar," with the luscious essence of vanilla and the richness of butter. This fusion of flavors gave rise to the very first Liรจge waffle, a momentous creation that has since become a storied delicacy.
